  13. I am trying to connect a Bocamodem 14.4 external modem to one of our 
  14. office 486 machines.  When I hook it up to COM2 (the only available 
  15. port), it will not respond to commands in the terminal software (several 
  16. different brands, both DOS and Windows).  The computer is part of a 
  17. Novell Network, but disabling the network seems to make no difference.  
  18. Might it be an IRQ problem?  If so, how can we correct that?  When I move 
  19. the modem to COM1, it works fine- but the mouse needs to use COM1, so 
  20. that is not a permanent solution.  Any help would be appreciated.  Please
