- Summary: Modem will not connect to COM2. Help?

- I am trying to connect a Bocamodem 14.4 external modem to one of our
- office 486 machines. When I hook it up to COM2 (the only available
- port), it will not respond to commands in the terminal software (several
- different brands, both DOS and Windows). The computer is part of a
- Novell Network, but disabling the network seems to make no difference.
- Might it be an IRQ problem? If so, how can we correct that? When I move
- the modem to COM1, it works fine- but the mouse needs to use COM1, so
- that is not a permanent solution. Any help would be appreciated. Please
- email me at: Craig.Wiggins@kd3bj.ampr.org
- If you just message reply to this post, it will not get to me, so please
- use the email address. Thanx!
